BATESVILLE Historical CENTER CELEBRATES AMERICA'S 250TH
When: March – September
Where: 15 West George St, Batesville
The Batesville Historical Center is proud to help celebrate our country’s 250th birthday in 2026 by showcasing a special exhibit of our country’s and community’s history and how it uniquely embraces freedom and patriotism.
Our unique displays will illustrate our history and highlight our heroes. From our country’s discovery to our founding fathers and the Revolutionary War; from the Civil Rights movement to two world wars. Our Indiana and local history stories will come to life as well.
Patriotic Artwork
When: Mid-May through July 4th
Where: Throughout the City
Batesville is getting a patriotic makeover this summer! Batesville Middle School students have created original patriotic artwork inspired by our community and America’s 250th anniversary. The top pieces will be displayed in businesses, lobbies, storefronts, and public spaces throughout the city — turning Batesville itself into a gallery worth exploring! We encourage you to spend an afternoon exploring these locations and enjoying the artwork.
Patriotic Movie Series
When: June 18, June 25, and June 30, 2026
Where: Gibson Theatre
As part of Batesville’s celebration of America’s 250th birthday, the community is invited to enjoy a free Summer Patriotic Movie Series at The Gibson Theatre. These family-friendly films highlight important moments in American history and culture while providing an opportunity for residents and visitors to come together in the weeks leading up to the Fourth of July.
All movies will begin at 7:00 PM and are free and open to the public. The series is hosted by The Gibson Theatre, with movie sponsorships provided by Dice & Needle. We encourage everyone to join us for an evening of entertainment, history, and community spirit.
